Our Philosophy

At Audio Graphics Services we acknowledge the strength of the Christian doctrine and at all times operate to reflect those convictions. We do not support the corporate philosophy of business and take great pride in being a small family owned business in the Christian Tradition. For more on this teaching read the works of G.K. Chesterton on Distributionism and the Papal Encyclical: CENTESIMUS ANNUS

STEWARDSHIP

Each of us has been ordained by our Creator with certain skills or talents. We believe that it is our responsibility to use these talents to provide for our material needs and to benefit others in the performance of their respective responsibilities. It is our duty, in all endeavors, to make use of the skills, education, knowledge and experience at our disposal to perform a craftsman's job. We further believe that we should charge equitably for these services. We have the respect for the talents given us by our Creator to require fair and prompt payment for them.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

During earlier days fine artisans created masterpieces with their God-given skills. Today, with the advent of modern mass production techniques, the craftsman's ethic has been lost. Audio Graphics is not, and will not be, a production house. We work at a quality conscious pace, and in all cases, with the artisan's ethic in the tradition of St. Joseph.

Most of todays audio productions lack aesthetics, witnessed by today's over processed, distorted audio. This is a problem not unique to the audio industry of technicians misusing their tools. You've certainly seen old furniture built by artisans far outlast today's modern pieces. The older items, be they tables, tapes, artwork or productions were produced by masters of their trade. Some of today's products and productions have been slapped together by writers, artists?, producers, arrangers, talent, mixers and those who call themselves "engineers" but who in reality are simply "knob jockeys," and who have neither the time, inclination, or knowledge to do quality work. If you have been raised on chrome and glass, hand rubbed finishes may be beyond your experience.

Our client list reflects those who respect the value of the skills and the talents God has made them responsible for. They are craftsmen themselves and can appreciate others with like ethics creating a quality project with them.

Audio Graphics is more than a production service, art house, recording or technical facility, but rather a total audio service source. Our education, knowledge, experience, use of skills, aesthetics and, in all cases, the final product will reflect the craftsman's tradition.

Audio Graphic Services - Terms of Service

Unlike the the present business model of today where financial gain takes precedence over all else, we take a moral approach. If you are seeking a facility where the first objective of your project is of monetary gain or “stardom” we strongly suggest that you seek services else-ware. Please, don't waste your money or our time. There are plenty of other facilities who would appreciate your business. We pride ourselves on products of artistic significance and technical excellence. Great recordings do not usually command immediate commercial success. Although, some have.

Our time is billed in half hour segments from the time booked until the final end of your session time, with a minimum of two hours per session. A deposit calculated as the cost of the first two hours will be required prior to the start of the session with any balance due upon completion.

With over 50 years of knowledge and experience in professional audio we have the respect for the talents given by our creator and of the those we work with to realize that there are responsibilities embedded with those gifts. If you employ our services, please realize that you must respect the technical knowledge and experience behind the services we provide. We further reserve the right to withhold and/or terminate services if our moral or technical integrity is violated.

We assume you come with the musical and artistic skills required and are well prepared, with proper arrangements and good musicians and/or prepared audio or graphic files (if the production is pre-recorded and/or brought to us for post production) to effectively benefit from our technical expertise and efficiently use the time booked. The studio is not a place for a creative “fishing expedition.”

We do not offer “music production” services. Musical arrangements and personal, production arrangements and other creative musical decisions are the responsibility of the client. If you need these services, we can suggest the best of professionals who can provide these services for you. We provide the highest quality, audio recording, technical and post-production services.

If your perception of music and production is one of the “new view;” that a production is created in the Control Room by “THE PRODUCER” with “SOUNDS” produced by the musicians and then manipulated into submission by the use of “TECHNOLOGY,” again, please seek services else-ware. This is anathema to our philosophical view of the use of the technical arts and sciences.

We believe the present practice of recording, manipulating, editing and processing audio from unrelated performances in order to create “musical perfection” is a destructive, fraudulent and indefensible use of audio technology. This is because the resulting production is presented as the work of an artist who is incapable of the reality of the “produced” performance. Besides being fraudulent, this is a grave misuse of technology. Technology can help save a performance, not to “create” one.

It is our moral responsibility is to preserve the musical and technical integrity of the music; to use the minimum amount of audio processing; preserving, as best possible, a high fidelity reproduction of the original performance. This points back to the responsibility of the gifts and talents given by our creator and the responsibility of their use. We do not and will not provide audio corruption services. We set standards in audio quality.

Consumers of music have the right to expect true value from the money expended for a recorded musical experience. For the first time in history the consumer delivery media has the capability to present the full dynamic and frequency range of human hearing with the digital audio technology of today. To limit this capability either musically, dynamically or spectrally is to outright cheat the audio consumer. We will not be a party to this.

However, if you are one of the few artists or producers who understands the value of audio quality, who seeks the value of the a fine performance, well recorded, with demonstrable audio integrity and wishes to preserve the essence of the performance experience and reproduce it, then please contact us.
